CIMer Web Collaboration
The core concept is to "free product data from being tied to CAD workstations." This means that without installing CAD software, accessing the company intranet, or even using a high-end workstation, users can view drawings, check BOMs, approve documents, engage in collaborative discussions, review projects, track ECOs, and manage files. This creates a truly "cross-departmental, cross-plant, and cross-country collaborative platform."

Traditional PDM and CIMer Web Collaboration
The main differences between traditional PDM and CIMer Web collaborative work lie in the "accessibility" and the efficiency of "cross-domain collaboration".
| Traditional PDM (closed-loop) | CIMer Web Collaboration (Open) |
|---|---|
| Software limitations: Typically requires the installation of a dedicated client program and must connect to the headquarters server via a VPN. | Zero installation, cross-device compatibility: As long as you have a browser, you can log in to the system anytime, anywhere via mobile phone, tablet, or laptop to review drawings or check progress. |
| Collaboration difficulties: External suppliers or customers are difficult to involve in the process, resulting in communication still relying on email or FTP file transfers, creating information gaps. | External Partner Portal: Allows secure access to suppliers, enabling them to directly download release diagrams or send back materials via the web, establishing a transparent collaboration chain. |
| Without installing the PDM program, it is impossible to view drawings, inspect BOMs, and access or obtain related documents and data. | Online 3D visualization: No CAD software installation is required; users can directly rotate 3D models, part drawings, 2D CAD files, etc., through a web interface, significantly reducing communication barriers. |
Through the CIMer Web collaboration core architecture, the "Browser is the PLM work platform," allowing anyone with the necessary permissions to read, view, and access real-time information.
1
Browser-based architecture
It adopts a "purely web-based operation" and supports Windows, Mac, iPad, Android, iPhone, Linux, etc., allowing users to access the web collaboration platform through a browser. No CAD or PDM client installation is required for operation.

2
Web CAD Viewer
Managers, purchasing staff, and factory personnel can view 3D models, rotated models, zoom in and out, measure, annotate, inspect 2D engineering drawings, and browse Office files, audio-visual files, PDFs, and other materials without a CAD license.

3
Online BOM Collaboration
You can view the BOM, check part numbers, unfold and assemble parts, check revisions, and view alternative materials all on the web.

4
Workflow Web Approval
Managers can approve documents directly via browser, mobile phone, or email. From submission to supervisor's mobile approval, BOM issuance and ERP synchronization form a "mobile workflow."

5
Multi-site collaboration
Regardless of location, all users can achieve "global synchronization of product data" through browser collaboration after authorization.

6
Issue / Note Collaboration
On the web, users can annotate drawings, leave comments for discussion, raise issues, and assign tasks. If interference is discovered at the factory, the issue can be flagged on the web, and "instant collaborative design" can be achieved when the R&D team receives the notification.

7
Dashboard Situation Room
Managers can view project progress, ECO count, BOM status, delay processes, KPIs, etc. via the web, effectively creating a "R&D war room."

8
Access Control and Cybersecurity
CIMer Web supports Active Directory integration, SSO, HTTPS, VPN, departmental permissions, and customer permissions. It also records actions such as adding, browsing, copying, downloading, printing, and signing, meeting ISO cybersecurity audit requirements and customer expectations.

9
Integration with ERP/MES
The web portal can synchronize ERP part numbers, MES work orders, production progress, procurement information, etc., achieving an "enterprise digital collaboration platform".
The core value of CIMer Web collaboration
Transform PDM from an "engineer's tool" into a "company-wide digital asset platform" to achieve seamless communication.
Seamless access, instant decision-making: Breaking the limitations of the office and VPN, managers and engineers can review images and text anytime through a browser, whether on a business trip, on-site, or in a meeting room, significantly shortening project cycles.
Transparent collaboration across organizations: Establish a secure portal for external partners, allowing suppliers to view release plans or send back proofing materials online without installing complex software, eliminating the information gap caused by email back-and-forth.
Low-barrier visual communication: Non-design personnel (such as purchasing and sales) can directly manipulate 3D models for rotation, 2D engineering drawings, etc. through the web interface, without relying on expensive CAD licenses, making cross-departmental communication more accurate.

CIMer Web Collaboration: Multi-faceted Applications
Data will no longer be out of sync, the latest version will no longer be unavailable, ECO chaos will be a thing of the past, and project loss of control will no longer occur. CIMer has better addressed the issues of "transparency of R&D information" and completed the development of a "supply chain web collaboration platform".
