On May 3, 2024, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) - Smart Machinery Technology Group invited the CIMer Tech team to ITRI's Taichung Branch to discuss the current digital transformation challenges facing the manufacturing industry and how both parties can further collaborate to provide suitable and practical solutions for the manufacturing sector. During the visit, Dr. Cheng Chih-Ping, Manager Chuang Cheng-Chin, Manager Kao Yung-Ming, and Manager Wang Pei-Ning raised many issues encountered by the manufacturing industry. Particularly regarding ESG, CIMer Tech proposed focusing on three key areas: dematerialization, energy efficiency, and waste reduction. Many manufacturers are actively investing in ESG sustainability to minimize the environmental impact of production, operations, and product services. However, once a product design is finalized, its carbon footprint is already determined. Subsequent carbon reduction efforts may have limited effectiveness. The key is to make sustainable design decisions in the initial digital environment to achieve better reduction results in actual implementation, thus further promoting sustainable development.
